ROOT 1066 – WIP @SOURCE PARK, HASTINGS

COMMISSIONED EVENT: DESIGN/ CURATION/ PRODUCTION

We are honored to have been given the task of creating the closing event for the Root1066 Contemporary Arts Festival in Hastings on Oct 16th. We are in the process of creating something unique to end the month long series of events marking the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings, our only brief was to present something ‘forward looking’.   We decided to use one of Hasting’s newest buildings, one which will have a  major impact on the town over the coming years, the largest underground Skate and BMX park in the world, Source Park. The park is 65m in length, was once a Victorian Baths and not without its challenges but we have assembled an amazing group of musicians, artists, technicians and engineers to collaborate with us in a sequence of experiments utilizing the space in distinctive ways.
