‘HELLOWEEN’ @THE PRINTWORKS, HASTINGS

Category : design, event October 4, 2016

zeroh_helloween_blogimage After the success of our New Years eve party we set out to do a series of parties at significant points in the calendar where time shifts, and they’ve proved to be successful so far, each reaching capacity for the venue with great feedback. We started with ‘SPRING FORWARD‘ as the clocks went forward an hour, we celebrated the Solstice with ‘SOLSTISH‘ and now Summer is over, the clocks are going back an hour and the longer nights are upon us, we’re throwing a masked party to mark the next shift in time to Winter ‘HELLOWEEN – WHEN TIME REWINDS’. We have a special late night guest this time around, DJ JAPHY, who will be taking the dancefloor through the first dark hours of winter with the club suitably decorated for the eve of the eve of Hallloween. The flyers for the event, to be found around Hastings and St.Leonards, will be your mask for the night and tickets will be available HERE.

Category : animation, artwork, event, video October 4, 2016

zeroh_sourcepark-wip_blogimageWe are honored to have been given the task of creating the closing event for the Root1066 Contemporary Arts Festival in Hastings on Oct 16th. We are in the process of creating something unique to end the month long series of events marking the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings, our only brief was to present something ‘forward looking’.   We decided to use one of Hasting’s newest buildings, one which will have a  major impact on the town over the coming years, the largest underground Skate and BMX park in the world, Source Park. The park is 65m in length, was once a Victorian Baths and not without its challenges but we have assembled an amazing group of musicians, artists, technicians and engineers to collaborate with us in a sequence of experiments utilizing the space in distinctive ways. This will be a ‘Work in Progress’. Tickets are FREE but LIMITED you can get yours HERE.

zeroh-root1066-blog2016 marks the 950th anniversary of The Battle of Hastings and there are many related activities and events throughout the year in the town and surrounding area. The main focus of the festivities comes at the end of the summer, the ROOT1066 International Festival, which runs from September 3rd till October 16th. Festival Director Polly Gifford has commissioned us to create a closing event for the celebrations, for which we have chosen the recently opened Source Park, the worlds largest underground skate and BMX park, as the venue. We’re currently making plans and talking ideas through with collaborators in order to create A unique Work In Progress, the start of an ongoing wider work focusing on the Source Park.  More info will be released over the next two months with hints as to what you might expect. Join us on October 16th from 6pm.

BEE POTION – BRANDING

We were recently commissioned, by start up company Bee Potion, to design a Bee for their range of skin care and beauty products all derived from honey, pollen and wax. Company CEO Katharine Slater had seen our Moths around Hastings and wanted us to create an icon for Bee-Potion in a similar vein. We’ve also designed the bottle labels for the brand, more on that when they hit the streets.

HASTINGS PIER – OPENING

Category : event, Hastings Pier May 23, 2016

zeroh_PierOpen_BonkersBingoHaving worked as the creatives for Hastings Pier Charity, since the restoration works began almost 4 years ago, we were invited to curate and direct the official Opening Day’s morning and afternoon entertainment for the expected 10,000 visitors, May 21st 2016.
We worked around the theme of the Pier’s, world famous, musical heritage with a good measure of tongue in cheek ‘traditional seaside fun’ thrown in. More details and images to follow.
